My work for the seventh All Yesterdays. This Anurognathus, whose appearance I decided to show in the form of an owl. The reason for this interpretation is that these animals have convergently similar features skull (eg, large, relative to the body, head, eye sockets stretched forward) coloring pens (in this case - the hair) is taken from the color of eyes and beak taken from the Snowy Owl . This collective image anurognata-owl ..

Unfortunately Bennett's interpretation mistook a maxilla for a giant scleral ring crushed in the plane of the disk (which never happens otherwise) in the front half of the skull (which never happens otherwise in pterosaurs) with an antorbital fenestra much smaller than the orbit (which never happens otherwise in basal pterosaurs). Bennett also interpreted a super wide parietal with widely spaced upper temporal fenestrae (which never happens otherwise in pterosaurs). Altogether a horrible case of misinterpretation. A better reconstruction can be seen by seeking the keywords, "flat head pterosaur."

I took as a basis for an anatomical drawing by Jaime Headden " Anurognathus Head Study "
